Hundreds of Thousands of Brightly Colored Lights---plus Santa and Elvis,

Offer a Spectacular Launch to the Holiday Season

At Kingston Cove Christmas

Ready for Santa?  Mark your calendars!  Kids of all ages and their families are invited to celebrate the opening day of the holiday season with all-day activities in Kingston, WA.

10 AM to 4:30 PM:  Three events at the Village Green Community Center offer fun and surprises:

  • The Festival of Trees:  Vote for your favorite uniquely-decorated Christmas tree amongst the “forest” of holiday festivity in the lobby.

  • Holiday Gift Fair:  Purchase clever gifts and stocking stuffers from many vendors.

  • Friends of the Library Book Sale:  Wonderful books will be offered for sale, with choices for all ages.

NOTE:  The Village Green Community Center and the Kingston Library are located at 26159 Dulay Road NE, in Kingston, WA.

10 AM to 4:00 PM:  The Kingston High School Holiday Bazaar takes place on both Saturday, Dec. 1st and Sunday, Dec. 2nd.  Held at Kingston High School, in the commons room and down all the hallways.  Choose a fun Christmas gift, and support the high school, too.  NOTE:  Kingston High School is located at 26201 Siyaya Ave NE, Kingston, WA, a short drive from downtown.

2 PM to 4:30 PM:  More fun for kids, or time to relax and explore Kingston.

  • Kiwanis’s Santa’s Workshop:  Your kids can become elves for the afternoon at the Kingston Cove Yacht Club (directly across the street from the Port of Kingston). They’ll create Christmas decorations and crafts, have their photo taken with Santa, enjoy games and be treated to cocoa and cookies.

  • Kingston Exploration Time:  Families can explore the town and visit shops and restaurants.  Adults can enjoy the downtown wine bar and craft beer brewery, while kids will enjoy a visit to our local candy store.

3:30 PM to 7:30 PM:  THE BIG EVENTS BEGIN!!!

3:30 PM:  Musical performances by Kingston High School Jazz Ensemble and Choir.  Complimentary hot cocoa and cookies for kids in the big tent.  Adults are invited to visit the Holiday Spirits Garden for mulled spiced wines, craft brews and spirited warm cocktails. Food vendors on site too.

4:30 PM:  Danny Vernon, famous Elvis personified, will perform Presley’s favorites, including Christmas songs.

5:00 PM:  SANTA arrives to launch the dramatic lighting of the Christmas tree and Port.  Over half a million lights, and 600 light sculptures brighten the sky.  All are hand-made by volunteers, and form flowers, sea creatures, and other holiday images.  Famous throughout Kitsap County, this remarkable display will remain lit every evening until January 6th.

After the Christmas tree, lighting, kids 14 and under will enjoy a Christmas Scavenger Hunt around the Port:  Scavenger Hunt cards will be available in the big tent and the port offices.  Kids can turn in their completed card to earn a prize.

5:15 PM:   Boats in Kingston Cove light up for their floating parade.  (Weather permitting.)

Each boat is uniquely festooned with imaginative Christmas lights and decorations, which shimmer on the water.  Pull out your cameras and enjoy it all as they said out of the Port at 5:30 PM.

Lodging is available at the Point Hotel---with shuttle service to and from the Port.
